Michigan Ballet Theatre

Under the direction of Cornelia Sampson, Michigan Ballet Theatre is quickly gaining a reputation for developing some of the finest dancers in the country.

This page offers a brief pictorial essay and highlights just a few of her company's many success stories.

Laurel Skousen and Michael Anderson perform in "Spring Waters." Laurel is now a soloist with the Cleveland Ballet.  Michael is a member of the Joffrey Ballet. Both are former students of Cornelia Sampson.

Ashley Knox received a full scholarship to the School of American Ballet, the official school of the New York City Ballet.

Dancers must attain a high level of proficiency by an early age in order to realize their full potential. Performance opportunities, like those provided by Michigan Ballet Theatre, are an essential part of their development.
